West Indies to meet Bangladesh in semifinal

West Indies on Monday confirmed semifinal of U19 Cricket World Cup 2016 defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the quarter final match at Fatullah in Narayanganj.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first.

Pakistan managed to score 227 runs after losing six wickets in 50 over’s.

Umair Masood scored 113 runs from 114 balls and Salman Fayyaz scored unbeaten 58 runs from 79 balls for Pakistan.

CK Holder picked two wickets and AS Joseph, SK Springer, RD John, KMA Paul took one wicket each of Pakistan.

In chasing of 228 runs West Indies easily managed to score 229 runs losing 5 wickets in 40 over’s.

TA Imlach scored 54 runs from 76 balls and SO Hetmyer scored 52 runs from 42 balls for West Indies.

Sameen Gul, Ahmad Shafiq and Shadab Khan took one wicket each of West Indies.

West Indies will meet Bangladesh in the semifinal at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on February 11.
