Zaman slams 1st ton
Fakhar Zaman slammed his first ton as Pakistan made magnificent progress against India in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 on Sunday.
Earlier, Zaman and Azhar Ali shared a partnership of 128 for the opening wicket, the highest for Pakistan in ICC ODi events against India.
Fakhar made his debut in the ongoing edition of the ICC Champions Trophy against South Africa and has been his captain`s first choice opener alongside Azhar Ali. In his first game at Birmingham, Fakhar scored 31 off 30 balls to keep his place in the remaining matches of the Champions Trophy.
High on confidence, the 27-year-old then struck 50 against Sri Lanka in their last league game, then 57 against hosts England in the semi-final and is going strong with another fifty against India in the final.
He also became the second Pakistan opener to hit three consecutive fifties after Majid Khan in the ICC events.
Fakhar also became the first Pakistan batsman to score three half-centuries in first four One Day Internationals.
