Tigers returns home

Bangladesh cricket team returned home after completing their around two-month-long tours in Ireland and UK.

The flight carrying the national cricketers landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka at 9:40 am on Saturday.

Bangladesh became runners-up in the tri-nation series beating New Zealand in the last match in Ireland. Then they flew to England to take part in the ICC Champions Trophy, in where the Tigers reached semi-finals.

Though Mashrafe-led team conceded a 9-wicket defeat against India in the second semi-final, they showed the world their strength as they beat New Zealand in group match and reached in the last four, which is their first ever success in an ICC event.

Bangladesh moved to sixth spot in the ODI rankings for the first time, which may lead the team to direct qualification in the ICC World Cup 2019.
