Bangladesh pass 100 runs, Tamim scores 50
Bangladesh have passed 100 runs and Tamim Iqbal smashed a half century in the second semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Thursday.
After losing two quick wickets, Southpaw opener Tamim Iqbal and wicket keeper cum batsman Mushfiqur Rahim 73 runs stand helped Bangladesh to cross 100-run after 19 overs.
Tamim scored unbeaten 50 off 62 while Mushfiq made 24 from 31.
Bangladesh were 104 runs for 2 wickets in 19 overs for a short while.
Earlier, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe tossed the coin, Kohli called heads, and it was heads. Indian captain asked the Tigers to bat first.
However, Mashrafe said that he would have liked to bowl too. “We want to go further, last 2-3 years we have improved a lot. 2015 World Cup also we went through (the group). This time it`s time to go further,” he said.
