Tamim-Mushfiq stand steady Bangladesh

Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal and middle-order batsman Mushfiqur Rahim made a good partnership to steady their side after departure of Soumya Sarkar and Imrul Kayes against England in the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy at Kennington Oval, London on Thursday.

Bangladesh reached at 163 for two in 31 overs with Tamim’s 80 off 97 balls and Mushfiq’s 33-run from 35 balls.

Earlier, English captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and asked the Tigers to bat first.

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe said that he would have wanted to bowl, too. “We have to make a decent total, and fielding will be important,” he added.
