Di Maria’s home raided by police in tax fraud probe
Former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria`s home has been raided by police.
Paris Saint Germain man Di Maria, and club and country teammate Javier Pastore were visited by anti-corruption officers as part of a tax fraud investigation.
Prosecutors opened an investigation in December into Di Maria and Pastore after it was claimed as part of the `Football Leaks` that the pair allegedly hid earnings in tax havens.
The enquiry is focused on image right payments, as reported by AFP and French investigative paper Mediapart.
Di Maria joined United from Real Madrid in 2014 for £60m before moving on a year later after an unsuccessful spell at Old Trafford.
The former Benfica wide man scored four times in 32 appearances for Louis van Gaal`s side.
Di Maria and Pastore were both visited at 6:00am on Tuesday morning.
The duo`s Argentine teammate Emiliano Sala`s, who stars for Nantes, home was also searched by officers as part of the same investigations.
PSG`s home ground Parc des Princes and offices in Boulogne-Billancourt were raided for evidence.
The club is being investigated by authorities after allegedly signing a contract with a company in Panama which allegedly took a chunk of the player`s earnings - although the Parisian outfit insist they haven`t made any commission from the agreement.
