Mahmudullah on brink of personal milestone

Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad is now on the brink of personal milestone in One Day international cricket for Bangladesh.

He has a chance of completing his milestone against Ireland at Malahide, Dublin on Friday.

Mahmudullah needs 28 runs more for becoming the fifth Bangladeshi to score 3000 runs in 50 over international format. He has now 2972 runs in 139 ODIs at an average of 33.39. Mahmudullah has two hundreds and seventeen fifties.

Meanwhile, four Bangladeshi batsman- Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Ashraful have already passed the quota of 3000 runs.

Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal Khan is now at the top of the table among them. He has 5338 runs in 167 ODIs at an average of 33.15.

Maverick all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has scored 4796 runs in 171 ODIs. He has a healthy average of 34.75.

Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim, who is well known as ‘Mr. dependable’, has retained third position with 4187 runs in 170 ODIs. He averages 31.48.

Former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful, who played highest ODIs for Bangladesh, held fourth position with 3468 runs.

However, Mahmudullah is top form now in the Tri nation series as he played a vital unbeaten 43 runs against Ireland in their series opener, which was called off due to rain.

Bangladesh lost their second match against Kiwis by 4 wickets. Despite losing the match, Mahmudullah played magnificently. He scored 51 runs off 56 balls with six fours.
