Mashrafe regrets for 20 runs
Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said they couldn’t win the match due to lack of 20 runs against New Zealand in their second match of the tri nation series in Dublin on Wednesday.
Expressing his disappointment after post match press conference, he said they needed partnerships. Tamim and Soumya made a partnership in the top order level . Soumya, Mushfique and Mahmudullah played very well but couldn’t get going.
“We were at least 20 runs short,” Mashrafe added.
“Our bowlers couldn’t bowl on the right channel in the initial stage of the match. Mustafiz, Rubel did a great job but we needed early break through,” said Narail Express, referring to bowling performance of Bangladesh team.
Bangladesh had a great chance to triumph against New Zealand for the first time in abroad.
New Zealand won over Tigers by 6 wickets with 15 balls left in Dublin. On May 12, Bangladesh’s first match was abandoned due to heavy rain against the hosts.
