Court accepts charge sheet against Arafat Sunny

A tribunal in Dhaka on Sunday accepted charge sheet against Bangladesh national team cricketer Arafat Sunny in a case filed under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.

Bangladesh Cyber Tribunal judge Saiful Islam accepted the charge sheet and fixed July 13 for framing charges against the cricketer.

According to the cases, Sunny got married to Nasrin Sultana on December 4, 2014. He threatened the woman by sending their intimate photos on June 12 last year. The cricketer did the same in November.

On Jan 5, the woman filed a case under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act with Mohammadpur Police Station.

Police arrested Sunny on Jan 22 and got bail on Mar 15 following a negotiation between the plaintiff and the defendant.

On April 6, Mohammadpur police Sub-Inspector Mohammad Yahia, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate SM Masud Zaman.
