Lionel Messi furious at Cristiano Ronaldo heroics

Real Madrid took a giant step towards retaining the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a terrific hat-trick as Los Blancos thumped fierce rivals Atletico Madrid 3-0 at the Bernabeu.

With Real level on points with Barcelona in La Liga - albeit with a game in hand - Zinedine Zidane’s side are well-primed to win both major trophies.

And Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim Messi is not taking their rivals’ success too well.

It is claimed the Argentina international believes Barcelona are falling behind their rivals on and off the pitch.

He feels the club have made the wrong decisions in the transfer market in recent years.

Paco Alcacer, Andre Gomes and Jasper Cillessen all arrived last summer with high expectations but all three players have toiled at the Nou Camp.

Messi feels club chief Roberto Fernandez has under performed in the execution of his duties.

And the 29-year-old also feels Barcelona shot themselves in the foot against Juventus.

The Catalan giants were beaten 3-0 on aggregate by the Serie A giants.

Messi feels Barcelona would beat Real but reckons their performances against Massimiliano Allegri’s side have left their fierce rivals clear to complete a stunning double.
