Sports become stronger when AL comes to power: Biren Sikder

State Minister for Youth and Sports today said country`s sports become stronger when Awami League (AL) comes to power.

"Bangladesh has proved its quality of sports at international level due to the earnest efforts of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he told the inaugural function of Belcon Abdul Jalil Gold Cup Football Tournament at Naogaon stadium here.

The state minister said country`s sports arena has achieved a remarkable success during the tenure of the present government.

The present government, he said, has been working for involving the youths in sports and cultural activities for building a militancy free country.

With Deputy Commissioner Dr M Aminur Rahman in the chair, it was also attended, among others, by district Awami League President M Abdul Malek, MP, Whip Advocate Shahiduzzaman Sarker, District Awami League General Secretary Sadan Chandra Majumder, MP, Salimuddin Tarafder, MP, Jatiya Krira Parishad Secretary Ashok Kumar Biswas and Convenor of the tournament committee Iqbal Shahriar Russel.
