Charges against cricketer Shahadat placed before court

The charge sheet against former national cricketer Shahadat Hossain and his wife in a case filed over torturing his 11-year-old domestic help has been placed before court.

An official of Mirpur Police Station`s women and child department placed the charge sheet before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nuru Mia on Tuesday morning.

The charge sheet was then sent to Dhaka`s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate for proceeding of the case.

On September 6, domestic help Mahfuza Akhtar Happy brought allegations of torture by Shahadat and his wife. Later, a case was filed against the couple with Mirpur Police Station.
