Mashrafe to play his farewell T20I match today

Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the final match of the Twenty20 international series today.

The match will kick off under flood light at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo around 7:30 pm.

This match is very crucial for team Bangladesh after losing first match by six wickets.

It is also an emotional match for tigers as Bangladesh’s cricket legend Mashrafe Mortaza is all set to play his final T20I.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh seamer on Tuesday suddenly announced his retirement from T20 internationals through a Facebook status before stating the match. Then he assured the matter while addressing at a press conference after the first T20I.

So far, Mashrafe, who led Bangladesh in the 2016 ICC World T20, has played 53 T20Is and has taken 41 wickets at an economy rate of 8.05, with his best figures of 4/19 coming against Ireland in Belfast in 2012.

In his very first T20 international, which was also Bangladesh’s first ever T20I (against Zimbabwe), Mash top-scored with 36 off just 26 balls as the Tigers defeated Prosper Utseya’s men by 43 runs. He also took the all-important wicket of Brendan Taylor to halt Zimbabwe’s chase.

He will continue to lead Bangladesh in ODIs.
