Tamim, Shakib rebuild for Bangladesh

Opener Tamim Iqbal and all rounder Shakib Al Hasan steadied the Bangladesh innings after losing two wickets in quick succession in the first ODI at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Saturday.

Bangladesh were 208 for 3 in 38 overs, Tamim was batting on 89 from 113 and Shakib was 35 not out from 44 balls.

Earlier, Soumya (10), Sabbir (54) and Mushfiq (1) were gone.

Sri Lanka captain Upul Tharanga decided to bowl in the first ODI against Bangladesh in Dambulla.

Bangladesh`s captain Mashrafe Mortaza said they would have batted first, so the toss result did not make much of a difference.
