We have the ability to defeat Sri Lanka in ODI series: Mashrafe
Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza expected that batsmen should be more responsible and they should fully apply their abilities in the one day international (ODI) series.
Talking to compatriot newsmen, after completing practice session, Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said that the test win is an inspirational win for the boys before the ODI series. He said that team members have got positive energy from the remarkable win against Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh cricket team will play their first One Day International (ODI) of three match series against Sri Lanka at Dambulla International Cricket Stadium started on March 25.
Referring to batsmen, Mash said that batsmen should be careful as Lankan team has some good bowlers such as chinaman bowler Sandakan and pace bowler Lahiru Kumar.
“They can be dangerous for us,” he added.
“We are better team than Sri Lanka now. We have the ability to defeat Sri Lanka in ODI series. We are better team in ODI format than other two formats,” Mashrafe said.
He said that most of the winning squad players will be in the ODI squad.
“It is a plus point for us as we will play one day series with that winning sprite,” he said.
He hoped that they would play good cricket next matches of the series.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh team management started their preparation from yesterday afternoon for the series after winning 100th Test match and leveled the series 1-1.
Bangladesh ODI skipper along with some members of the ODI squad- Shuvagata Hom, Nurul Hasan Shohan, Sanjamul Islam- joined the two hours practice session.
Medium pacemen Abul Hasan Raju and Saifuddin also joined the practice session. They arrived at Colombo for the sole practice match started on March 22.
Tigers beat Sri Lanka by 4 wickets in the second Test of two match series, creating history as they became the fourth nation to win in the 100th Test match.
