Herath six as Sri Lanka script huge win

Rangana Herath has taken six wickets for 59 as Sri Lanka have handed Bangladesh a 259-run defeat in the first Test at Galle.

It took less than 45 overs for Bangladesh to be bundled out and Sri Lanka captain Rangana Herath led the way. With figures of 6/59, Herath ripped through the Bangladesh middle order.

Sri Lanka were had their foot on the pedal from the word go on Day 5 dismissing Soumya Sarkar off the second ball of the day.

Except for the time when Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rehman and Liton Das knocked about on the pitch before Lunch, the visitors never looked like they could get a result from this match on Day 5.

Sri Lanka now go to Colombo with a 1-0 lead.
