Fizz to return Tigers Test squad
Bangladesh cricket team will leave for Sri Lanka on 27 February for playing a full-fledged cricket series. The wonder boy of Bangladesh cricket Mustafizur Rahman is expected to return to the Test squad for the upcoming series.
When contacted, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, former cricketer and now chief selector of Bangladesh cricket team confirmed it.
Last year, the cutter master sustained an injury on his left shoulder while playing for Sussex in England. After recovering from the injury, the Bangladesh pace bowler played for Bangladesh in ODIs and Twenty20 internationals against New Zealand. He didn’t play for Bangladesh in Test series due to his physical condition.
Nannu informed that Mustafizur’s physical condition is pretty well. His condition is much better. He will be able to play in Test cricket for Bangladesh now.
After returning from New Zealand, the cutter master was reluctant to play against India. For his word, selectors didn’t pick him in the Bangladesh Test squad against India.
Meanwhile, the 20 year old boy of Satkhira played in Bangladesh cricket League for Prime Bank south zone. He bowled 48 overs in two matches and took four wicket.
Referring to his performance, Chief selector of Bangladesh cricket Minhazul Abedeyn Nannu said he did a great job for Prime Bank. He bowled very well in the second innings. We are happy with his performance.
“I hoped that he would play for Bangladesh in the upcoming Test series against the Lankan. But it depends on Fizz whether he will play or not,” said the chief selector.
Tigers will play two Tests, three one day internationals and two twenty 20 internationals in Sri Lanka.
