Afghanistan enters top 10 ICC ODI teams
The Afghanistan cricket team has managed to reach the top 10 of the ICC ODI Rankings for the first time ever.
According to media reports, as a result of their 49-run win over Zimbabwe on Friday, Afghanistan rose to No 10, the highest spot they have reached since they began playing ODIs.
Amir Hamza and Mohammad Nabi and Noor Ali Zadran were the top performers for the rising Asian nation on December 25, as they clinched victory in a low scoring thriller.
The rankings were updated at the conclusion of the New Zealand-Sri Lanka ODI on Friday. Earlier, Zimbabwe was at No 10 and Afghanistan at No 12.
Australia, India and South Africa are the three top teams in the rankings.
New Zealand can overcome South Africa if they win the series against Sri Lanka by a 4-1 margin or better.
