Azmir scores Bangladesh’s first ODI 200
Azmir Ahmed became the first Bangladeshi batsman to score a double century in a first class one day international match with a score of 222* against Udayachal Club on Tuesday.
Azmir led Agrani Bank to 383 in 50 overs. Azmir hit 222* off 168 balls with 16 fours and same number of sixes.
Sachin Tendulkar scored the first double hundred in one-day international cricket history. Since Tendulkar’s century, a double hundred has been scored in international cricket five times - twice by Rohit Sharma, and once by Virender Sehwag, Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill.
Belinda Clark scored the first ODI double-hundred in 1997 with a score of unbeaten 229 against Denmark.
