W Indies 33-0 at tea in reply to Australia`s 551-3 declared

The West Indies reached 33-0 at tea on Sunday in reply to Australia`s first innings of 551-3 declared after Steven Smith and fellow batsman Adam Voges competed stylish unbeaten centuries on day two of the second test.

Smith (134) brought up his sixth test century of the year shortly after lunch as he and Voges (106) shared an unbeaten 221 partnership.

Voges completed his century shortly after Smith with a drive to the boundary, passing 1,000 runs in a calendar year, finishing on 1,028.

Kraigg Brathwaite was 17 not out at the tea break with Rajendra Chandrika batting on 14.

Australia, which resumed the day on 345-3 with Smith on 32 and Voges on 10, has scored 1,134 runs for just seven wickets against the West Indies so far this series.

The West Indies bowlers rarely troubled the batsmen on day two, with Jerome Taylor finishing the innings with best figures of 2-97.

The visitors` fielding was no more impressive, with Voges and Smith playing shots all around the field and taking quick runs thanks to some sloppy returns.

Smith hit eight boundaries in his 177-ball knock, while Voges smashed 12 fours from his 166 balls.

Opener Joe Burns scored 128 and fit-again Usman Khawaja had 144 to set a solid foundation on the opening day.
