Bangladesh girls champion in regional football

Bangladesh has won the AFC U-14 Girls’ Regional Championship final defeating Nepal 1-0 at Army Physical Fitness and Sports Centre at Lagankhel in Kathmandu of Nepal on Sunday.

Bangladesh team played under head coach Golam Rabbani Choton the whole tournament and the vigorous Bangladesh side defeated Bhutan by 16-0 goals, drew with India 1-1 at the group level and had beaten Iran 2-0 in the semifinals.

A total of seven teams–also including, India, Bhutan, Maldives, Iran and Sri Lanka–had participated in the tournament.

In their route to the final, Nepal had defeated India 1-0 with Bangladesh overcoming Iran which confirmed the final berth for both.
