Tigers eye T20 fight back: Shakib
Bangladesh have a chance to hit back after a trouncing in the ODI series when they meet New Zealand in the first of three Twenty20 internationals at Mclean Park tomorrow.
The visitors were outclassed in the ODIs, losing all three matches, but can be reasonably optimistic about their prospects in the shorter forms of the game with the Twenty20 games.
Tigers ace all-rounder Shakib AL Hasan said that Bangladesh team still have the chance of bounce back in the upcoming T20 series.
“We created some chances in the ODIs series but could not grab those chances. It will not easy but we have a capable team who can do the job,” said Shakib.
“The last two times I came here we did not have a good memory. Recently we have showed a lot of improvement in the ODIs and if we can perform well, hopefully we will get a positive result in T20s,” he said.
Bangladesh will face New Zealand in the first match of the series on Tuesday at Napier before playing two matches at Mount Maunganui on January 6 and 8.
