Bangladesh fined for slow over-rate against New Zealand
Bangladesh cricket team was fined for maintaining a slow over-rate against New Zealand during the first one-day International in Christchurch on Monday.
Match Referee Chris Broad imposed the fine after tigers were ruled to be one over short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration.
Bangladesh captain Mashrafe was fined 20 per cent of his match fee, while his players have received 10 per cent fines.
Mashrafe pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing, said the International Cricket Council in a statement.
