Playing at home is special: Shakib

Bangladesh ace all rounder Shakib Al Hasan has played at BPL, IPL, Big Bash, CPL and PSL, but playing at home ground is special for him.

‘Playing at home ground is special feeling for me. There is no reason to miss it. I enjoy very much,’ Shakib said on Friday at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

Shakib got taste of being champion with Dhaka Gladiators in the second edition of Bangladesh Premier League.

Then he also became man of the tournament.

The ace all rounder returns Dhaka this year and wants to make a good start.

He said, ‘Hopefully, it will be enjoyable. From my personal point of view as a group we are a better team. Now important is how we perform in the field. Starting is very important. If we can make a good start and continue that, hopefully, it will bring a good result.’

Dhaka Dynamites with the combination of local and foreign players is one of the best team. Shakib gets experienced Nasir Hossain and Mosaddek Hossain Saykat as his fellows.

Two Lankan legends Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene will also play for Dhaka. Besides, Dwayne Bravo and Andre Russell will join with them.

‘In foreign quota, four foreign players are supposed to play. We have 6-7 foreign players but we won’t be able to let all of them to play in my team. We, team management, coach and captain, will take decision on this regard,’ Shakib added.
