England fight back as Tigers lost six

England fight back as Bangladesh lost six wickets after a strong stand between Tamim Iqbal and Mominul Haque put the host in a strong position in the first innings.

The Tigers are 202-6 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.

To devastate Bangladesh batting line-up, English spinner Moeen Ali played a vital role as he sent back Tamim, Muminul and Mushfiq. Stokes struck two to remove Mahmudullah and Sabbir.

Moeen trapped Tamim in front when he tried to leave the ball and broke Bangladesh’s robust 170-run second wicket stand. The opener referred to the third umpire but the decision was upheld on virtue of the on-field decision.

Mominul (66) fell soon misjudging the length of delivery that zipped past the inside edge on smashed into the stumps.

Before the quick wickets, Tamim skipped down the track and rifled two boundaries through the covers to bring up his seventh Test century, and third against England, in style.
