Ronaldo has never started a Real Madrid season this badly
Real Madrid may have scraped a victory over Athletic Club to regain their spot at the top of La Liga on Sunday, but all is not well with their star attraction.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been out of sorts since the beginning of the campaign, and has now officially registered his worst start to the season since joining the Spanish giants.
The Portuguese forward has scored just two goals in his first six matches, his lowest tally so far at the club.
To compare, by this point in the 2014-15 campaign Ronaldo had already bagged an incredible 13, while last season he netted five times in his first six outings.
He has also failed to score in his last four games at Santiago Bernabeu - another unenviable historical landmark.
Nor has he had much more luck with the ball at his feet, completing just three dribbles out of 15 in La Liga for a success rate of 20 percent.
Lionel Messi currently leads the Pichichi charts with seven goals in as many appearances so far, followed closely by Barca team-mate Luis Suarez.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, is currently competing with a less-heralded scorer - Barca defender Gerard Pique, who is tied in 34th with the star along with such famous poachers as Sergio Ramos, Hugo Mallo and Raul Garcia.
