Mashrafe’s fan released

Police on Sunday night released the youth who had entered the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium ground during the third and final ODI between Bangladesh and Afghanistan on Saturday.

Mohammad Yousuf Ali, Additional Police Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter to Jagonews24.com.

He said, ‘The intruder Mehedi Hasan is a student of a private university. He was just an emotional Mashrafe fan’.

Around the 30th over of the third ODI on Saturday an individual from the VIP gallery made his way to the field and ran towards Mashrafe, who was fielding at mid-on.

While Mashrafe initially seemed a bit taken aback he eventually hugged the individual and even seemed to ask the security officials not to hurt him.
