Arrest warrant for 14 BNP leaders

A Dhaka court issued arrest warrant against 14 people including BNP Vice-chairman Selima Rahman in connection with an arson attack case filed last year.

Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah of the Metropolitan Session Judge’s Court of Dhaka passed the order on Thursday.

The arrest warrant also includes Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas and Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel, personal assistant and press secretary to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia respectively.

The court directed officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station to submit a report on execution of the arrest warrant by November 2.

On February 2, 2015, a vehicle was set on fire in front of Appayan Community Centre in Pallabi of Mirpur during the BNP-led 20-party alliance enforced non-stop blockade.
