Will return soon, take part in polls: Tarique tells BBC Bangla
BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, has said he will return to the country soon. He made the remarks in an extensive interview with BBC Bangla. The news outlet published the first part of the interview on its website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel on Monday morning.
When asked about returning to the country, Tarique Rahman said, “For some valid reasons, the return has not been possible so far. But I think the time has come. Insha’Allah, I will return soon.”

Asked if he is likely to return before the upcoming elections, he said, “I will certainly make every effort, and I have the intention and interest to be present. When the much-anticipated election, which the people desire, takes place, I will be with the people, Insha’Allah.”
On whether he will participate in the upcoming elections, Tarique Rahman confirmed that he will take part.
Notably, Tarique Rahman went to London in 2008 for treatment during the military-backed caretaker government and has been staying in the UK since then.
