Tasnim calls out Sarjis’ flashy parade

Tasnim Jara, senior joint member secretary of the National Citizen Party, has raised concerns over a massive motorcade led by the party’s Chief Organiser Sarjis Alam in his home district, questioning its funding and alignment with the party’s transparency vows.
Identifying herself as a political worker from the National Citizens Party in an open letter Tuesday, Tasnim flagged the event—featuring over 100 vehicles—against Sarjis’ recent claim of living simply on loans with “no money” and “no wallet.”
Tasnim wrote that Sarjis’ modest image had bolstered the party’s appeal, but the lavish display sparked public doubts. “People are asking how it was financed and managed,” she said, urging a “clear and reliable” explanation to uphold NCP’s promise of a new political culture rooted in honesty and accountability.
She expressed hope that Sarjis would address the issue sincerely, warning that clarity is key to strengthening the party’s credibility.
