Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has announced that it will take responsibility for the family of the child who was raped in Magura.

The party's Amir, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, shared this information in a statement posted on his verified Facebook page on Sunday morning.

He wrote, "The family of Magura's child Achiya is truly helpless. Her father is mentally ill, and there are no other male members in the family. For humanitarian reasons, and with reliance on the will of Almighty Allah, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, InshaAllah, is taking responsibility for this family."

He added, "The members of this oppressed family have already been informed of this. We request everyone to pray that Allah grants us the ability to fulfill this responsibility properly. Ameen."

Earlier, on Saturday morning (March 15), Shafiqur Rahman visited the child’s home in Sabdalpur Union, Sreepur Upazila, Magura. He participated in a prayer for the child at the Sonatundi Government Primary School ground.
