No politics in the name of AL: Salahuddin

Saying no one can do politics in the name of Awami League in Bangladesh, BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed has demanded its trial as a political party for waging mass killings and crimes against humanity.

He said this while addressing a discussion titled ‘National Unity and Current Reality’ at the National Press Club in Dhaka arranged by Anchalik Sampadak Parishad on Wednesday afternoon, February 5.

“No one will be allowed to do politics in the name of Awami League in Bangladesh. We are raising that voice. We are demanding Awami League’s trial as a political party for massacres and crimes against humanity,” he said.

Criticising the interim government’s stance on Awami League, Salahuddin questioned, “If you (government) do not want to allow Awami League to do politics, why don’t you take legal steps against the party?”
