BCL leader arrested in murder case in Keraniganj
Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested a leader of the banned student organization Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in connection with the murder of an anti-discrimination student protester.
Md Sajjad Hossain, 24, vice president of BCL’s Mohammadpur Thana unit, was arrested in Keraniganj, Dhaka, on Thursday, confirmed Khan Asif Tapu, Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-2.
He said that Sajjad is one of the accused in the murder case of Akhtar Hossain, who was killed during the anti-discrimination student movement, and is also alleged to have been involved in an attack on students during the protests. Legal action against him is currently underway, according to the RAB official.
