The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee have announced a series of events, including leaflet distribution, rallies, and public outreach programs, from January 6 to 11 to raise awareness about the 'July Proclamation.'

The announcement was made by Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, during a press conference held at the organization's central office in Bangla Motor, Dhaka, on Saturday (January 4).

Hasnat Abdullah said, "We demanded the announcement of the July Proclamation by January 15 during the 'March for Unity' at Shaheed Minar on December 31. A declaration has been issued on behalf of the interim government. Since every individual in the country participated in this uprising, we believe this proclamation will reflect the aspirations of the people."

He emphasised the importance of public engagement, saying, "We aim to connect with people across all educational institutions and professional groups in the country. This campaign will be jointly conducted by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee."

Hasnat also expressed concerns over the government's lack of visible progress regarding the proclamation. "Discussions with all stakeholders in the uprising are essential. We urge the government to initiate work on this crucial matter promptly. We stand ready to extend our full cooperation," he added.

He further stated, "The fascist regime oppressed everyone. We are committed to reaching out to marginalized communities and ensuring their voices are heard."

The press conference was also attended by Nasiruddin Patwari, convener of the National Citizens Committee, who echoed the call for swift action and broad public involvement.
