We want foreign friend, not master: Jamaat Amir

Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman has said Bangladesh does not want any foreign country becomes its master rather it seeks friendship that would be on basis of equity and mutual respect.

“We want foreign friend, not master. This friendship will be based on equity,” he said, adding that no country will be allowed to hatch conspiracy against Bangladesh.

Dr Shafiqur Rahman made the remarks while addressing a programme at Nawab Siraj-Ud-Dowla Government College, Natore on Friday morning, January 3.

Stating that the future Bangladesh will be of equality, he said Jamaat-e-Islami wants people’s love, advice and positive criticism to build such a Bangladesh.

“We dream of such a Bangladesh where men and women will work regardless of gender. Women will never be kept out of work just because they are women and they perform their responsibility with honour,” he also said.
