Hasina continues plotting against Bangladesh after fleeing: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accused Sheikh Hasina of engaging in conspiracies against Bangladesh after fleeing to India.
He also alleged that false propaganda is being spread about communal unrest in the country, emphasising that people in this region, irrespective of religion, are peace-loving.
"Hindus, Buddhists, Christians—all live together harmoniously here," Fakhrul said while addressing a public rally at Sakoa School and College grounds in Boda, Panchagarh, on Sunday (December 22).
He warned against corruption, stating, “Don’t give or take bribes. If someone asks for a bribe, catch them and hand them over to the police. And if you think the police are also taking bribes, don’t worry—we are working to change that. Inshallah, the police will now truly become the people's police.”
Fakhrul highlighted the need for fair elections, saying, "If we can secure the right to vote, we will elect competent representatives who will serve the country. Our leader Tarique Rahman outlined 31 points two years ago for the nation’s betterment."
Criticising the Awami League, he said, "No one has inflicted as much oppression on us as they have. Scholars have been unjustly executed, our leaders imprisoned, and our rights taken away. We must remain vigilant to ensure such injustices never happen again."
The event was presided over by Panchagarh District BNP Member Secretary Farhad Hossain Azad. Other prominent speakers included Baby Nazneen, Adviser to BNP Chairperson; Barrister Nowshad Zamir, BNP’s International Affairs Secretary; Ishraq Hossain; Rangpur Divisional Organizing Secretary Principal Asadul Habib Dulu; Co-Organizing Secretary Professor Aminul Islam; Abdul Khalek; District BNP Convener Zahirul Islam Kacchu; and Joint Convener Touhidul Islam.
