BNP begins talks with allies to strengthen unity
The BNP initiated discussions on Saturday with political parties that participated in its simultaneous movement against the Awami League government, aiming to consolidate unity and gather opinions regarding the next general election.
The fresh round of dialogues began with a meeting involving leaders of the 12-party alliance. The BNP liaison committee, led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, joined the meeting, which started at around 4:00 pm. BNP Standing Committee members Nazrul Islam Khan and Selima Rahman were also in attendance.
Later in the day, BNP is scheduled to hold talks with Jatiyatabadi Samamona Jote, LDP, and the Labour Party leaders. The party also plans to meet other like-minded parties and alliances in the coming days.
Party insiders said that the discussions would cover the country's current political landscape and seek input from alliance partners on the upcoming election, the government’s reform plans, and the Chief Adviser’s proposed election roadmap. The meetings aim to devise the BNP’s next steps based on these suggestions.
