Ex-BCL leader Nishita Iqbal arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan DB police have arrested a former leader of the banned student organization, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).

Nishita Iqbal Nadi, the former Vice President of the Shamsunnahar Hall unit of Dhaka University BCL, was arrested from the Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital on Saturday midnight.

Additional Commissioner and DB Chief Rezaul Karim Mallick confirmed the arrest to Jago News.

He stated that Nishita Iqbal was arrested based on specific allegations and information. She is accused in multiple cases.

On October 23, the interim government declared the BCL, the student wing affiliated with the Awami League, a banned organization. At the same time, it was listed as a prohibited entity.
