The High Court has acquitted BNP's Organizing Secretary Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, who had been sentenced to 12 years in prison under the Explosive Substances Act.

A High Court bench comprising Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain passed the order following a preliminary hearing of a writ petition filed in this regard.

Advocate Mohammad Ariful Islam represented Dulu in court.

In February 2004, 18 houses were set on fire in Natore, leading to a case being filed the same year. In 2007, another case was filed in connection with the incident, in which Dulu was named as an accused.

Later, a special sessions court in Natore sentenced Dulu to 12 years in prison, while 83 other accused individuals received 10 years each. Dulu and 28 other accused individuals appealed the sentence. After hearing the appeal, the High Court acquitted all the accused, including Dulu, in its judgment today.
