Jamaat Amir condemns killing of lawyer in Ctg

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman has strongly condemned and protested the death of lawyer Saiful Islam Ali in an attack allegedly by the supporters of former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari in Chattogram on Tuesday.

In a statement issued this evening, he denounced the murder, describing it as a heinous crime.

Shafiqur Rahman said a group is continuously carrying out ill-attempts to destabilize Bangladesh by taking the side of the fallen dictatorship and want to destabilise Bangladesh through provocative activities.

However, the patriotic people are fully aware of their ill-will and are united, he said, adding that just as their evil attempts had failed in the past, they will also fail in the future.

"I am deeply saddened by the murder of my fellow colleague, and young lawyer Saiful Islam Alif, APP of Chittagong Judge Court. I pray to the Almighty Allah seeking forgiveness of the deceased's soul. May Allah accept him as a guest of Paradise and grant him the highest status of martyrdom, the Jamaat Amir said.

He also call on the authorities concerned to take strict legal action against those involved in the murder.
