A group of leaders and activists from various units of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) staged a demonstration in front of the Awami League’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.

This scene was observed on Sunday (November 10), where BNP leaders and activists were seen chanting various slogans. The protesters stated that more leaders and activists from different BNP units would gradually join the demonstration.

Meanwhile, various political parties placed wreaths at the Shaheed Noor Hossain Square at Zero Point in the capital. BNP and its affiliated organizations were also present at Zero Point.

Sources said that the Awami League announced a protest march in Gulistan on Sunday afternoon to commemorate Shaheed Noor Hossain and demand the removal of 'anti-democratic forces' and the 'restoration of democratic governance.' In contrast, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has called for a public gathering at the same location, demanding the trial of the ousted Awami League government.

Students from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement have already gathered at Noor Hossain Square at Zero Point. Police have been deployed in full alert, with armored vehicles and water cannons stationed at the location.

The interim government has also warned that the Awami League will not be allowed to hold its program. In response, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has made special preparations to maintain law and order in the capital.

On Friday (November 8), the Awami League announced via its verified Facebook page that it would hold a protest march at Zero Point on Sunday (November 10) to commemorate Shaheed Noor Hossain and to demand the removal of 'anti-democratic forces' and the 'restoration of democratic governance.'

Later, on Saturday (November 9) at around 8:00 PM, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement announced a counter-program. The organization stated on its Facebook page that it would hold a public gathering at 12:00 PM on Sunday at Zero Point, demanding the trial of the "fallen autocratic Awami League."
