Strict action if AL proceeds with rally, warns CA’s press secy

The Awami League has called for a protest march in Dhaka in memory of martyr Nur Hossain, with announcements shared through posts on the party’s verified Facebook page.

However, Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, stated that Awami League would not be permitted to hold any rallies or marches in the country. In a Facebook post at 12:08 pm on Saturday (November 9), he issued a stern warning.

In his post, Shafiqul Alam wrote, “The Awami League, in its current form, operates as a fascist party. There is no way this party will be allowed to hold protests in Bangladesh. Anyone attempting to organise rallies or gatherings under the directives of mass murderer and dictator Sheikh Hasina will face the full force of law enforcement. The Interim Government will not tolerate any violence or efforts to disrupt law and order.”

Awami League has called on its leaders and activists to gather at the Gulistan zero point at 3:00pm on Sunday (November 10) for a protest march, with further details shared on the party's verified Facebook page.
