The adviser for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Asif Nazrul, announced that the notification to establish the search committee for forming the Election Commission will be issued by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Nazrul made this statement to reporters after a meeting with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk at his office on Tuesday (October 29).

When asked if election matters were discussed, Nazrul replied, "No specific discussions on the election took place, but I can say that our government has initiated the election-oriented process. The journey toward the election has begun."

He said that the process for establishing the Election Commission is underway, with the search committee expected to be in place soon.

"As far as I know, the notification only awaits the signature of our chief adviser, Dr Muhammad Yunus. You will know as soon as it is signed—perhaps today or tomorrow," he added.

Nazrul also commented that once the search committee is set, the Election Commission will soon follow, addressing the voter list concerns raised by the public.

He acknowledged that previous elections were fraught with issues, leading many to disregard the voter list.
