Juba League activist stabbed to death in Rajshahi
A Juba League activist was stabbed to death by miscreants in Rajshahi on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Mim, son of Abdul Momin, a resident of the Ramchandrapur area in the city.
Around 9:30 pm, unidentified individuals left him bloodied in front of the emergency department of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Hospital trolley attendants quickly rescued him and transported him to the emergency department, where the on-duty doctor instructed that he be admitted to Ward No 2. Mim succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment around 10:15 pm.
Tazmul Islam, Inspector (Investigation) of Boalia Model Police Station, confirmed the incident. He stated that Mim was a close relative and associate of Juba League leader Rubel, who had previously opened fire on protesters during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5.
Inspector Islam further noted that preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased was involved in Juba League politics. The police have already launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding this murder, and those responsible will be brought to justice promptly.
