Hasina overthrown; no role for resignation letter: Hasnat

Following President’s statement regarding former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation, Hasanat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, said, "Hasina has been overthrown; there is no role for a resignation letter."

"Hasina has been overthrown; the people have ousted an illegal government through an uprising. Here, a resignation letter has no role," Hasanat wrote in a post on his verified Facebook page.

President Mohammad Shahabuddin stated that he has heard that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned, but he has not received any documentary evidence or paperwork regarding this.

He made these comments in a special interview with Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, the editor of the Daily Manabzamin.
