BNP team meets Norwegian secretary
A delegation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party met with Norwegian state secretary for foreign affairs Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik in Oslo on October 16.
Norwegian Foreign Ministry’s South Asia Section Director, Sigbjorn Tenfjord, and Senior Adviser, Anne Liliren, were also present at the meeting, said a press release.
During the discussion, the post-August 5 political situation in Bangladesh was thoroughly examined. Secretary Kravik emphasised Norway's desire for a swift return to democracy in Bangladesh through fair, free, and impartial elections.
On the other hand, the BNP delegation expressed their hope that the historic relationship between the two countries would reach new heights in a dictatorship-free environment.
The delegation, led by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s adviser, Barrister Abu Sayeed, included BNP National Executive Committee member Saidur Rahman Liton, Foreign Affairs Committee member Iqbal Hossain Babu, Norway unit BNP President Badal Bhuiyan, former International Affairs Secretary of Juba Dal, Mohammad Khairuzzaman Lincoln, and Norway unit BNP General Secretary Shah Alam.
