Jul-Aug massacres: Arrest warrants issued for Quader, Joy
The International Crimes Tribunal has issued arrest warrants against 45 individuals, including former minister Obaidul Quader and Sajeeb Wazed Joy, an ICT adviser to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in a case related to the genocide allegations during the anti-discrimination student movement in July-August.
A three-member judicial panel led by Tribunal Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza passed the order on Thursday.
Earlier, the tribunal had issued an arrest warrant for ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the same allegations and ordered her to be presented before it by November 18.
The tribunal proceedings commenced at 11:20 AM, with Chief Prosecutor Advocate Mohammad Tajul Islam in attendance.
