Gazipur factory files extortion complaint against BNP, Juba Dal leaders
The authorities of Unisense Apparels Limited in Gazipur have lodged a formal complaint with the top leaders of the BNP against several local leaders of BNP and Juba Dal, accusing them of demanding extortion.
Hasibur Rahman, the administrative officer of the factory, submitted the written complaint to the BNP's central office on Saturday, detailing the extortion attempt.
According to the complaint, on September 1, Nazim Bepari, president of Pirujali union BNP, along with general secretary DM Azarul Islam, Sadar upazila Juba Dal acting convener Nazim Sarker, and Pirujali union Juba Dal member secretary Nazmul Fakir, allegedly stopped a truck from the factory and demanded Tk 5 lakh in extortion.
Both BNP leader Nazim Bepari and Juba Dal leader Nazim Sarker have denied any involvement in the incident.
