The detectives arrested Awami League presidium member and former minister for shipping, Shahjahan Khan, in Dhaka early Friday.
A source in the Detective Branch, DB, under Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest.
Shahjahan Khan was elected member of parliament for eight consecutive times from Madaripur-2 constituecy.
He is also the executive president of Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Federation.
