Gono Odhikar Parishad gets EC registration

Gono Odhikar Parishad, led by former DUCSU Vice President Nurul Haque Nur, has been registered as a political party with the Election Commission.

A gazette notification, signed by the EC Secretary Shafiul Azam, was issued in this regard. 

The electoral symbol of Gono Odhikar Parishad is the Truck. The party’s registration number is 051, said the notification.

Earlier, on August 28, Gono Odhikar President Nur gave the Election Commission a seven-day ultimatum to register his party. 

Nurul in 2018 led the anti-quota system in government services under the banner of Chhatra Odhika Parishad.

He was later elected DUCSU vice-president.

In 2021, Gono Odhikar Parishad, was launched as a new political party with economist Reza Kibria as its convenor and Nur as member secretary.
